5-channel video installation, 2019 Krinzinger Projekte, Vienna, AT
The video installation „Altar 2.0.“ refers to baroque interior architecture of Roman Catholic churches and contrasts it with the aesthetics of contemporary pornography and eroticism. The installation consists of three parts: a video triptych played on three screens mounted on bent steel tubes; a video projection on the wall depicting Solomon‘s Columns in the form of digital human towers; and a „Neon Altar“, which is a wall projection showing three saints in a neon showcase: St. Sebastian, St. Teresa and St. Mary with a Fountain of Youth. These are set in a 3D-generated neon showcase, which in its form refers to erotic establishments and tanning salons. In the work, the dehumanisation of the human body is thematised and taken to extremes.
